La Fundición hosts an evening dedicated to contemporary stage creation as part of the official BAD Bilbao programme. 🎭✨

This double session is part of the 28th edition of BAD Bilbao – Contemporary Theatre and Dance Festival, combining residency research projects from Bilbaoeszena with international dance.

📖 Body research and contemporary dance

The programme begins at 19:00 with two work-in-progress projects selected for the Bilbaoeszena 2026 Artists in Residence programme. First is "Actos reflejos" (30 minutes), led by Iara Solano Arana alongside deafblind musician Diego Solano. The piece stems from the concept of object permanence and explores how gradual sight loss and external forces reveal new sensory and physical perspectives, featuring Adam Ireland, Poliana Lima, Idoia Zabaleta, and Natalia Fernandes. It is followed by "Orro", a 30-minute piece by Angela Millano.

At 21:00, Italian duo Menchetti-Ranieri takes the stage with "Cat Care Calling". Based on video interviews addressing street harassment, the dance performance uses irony and drama to translate the gestures and voices of both victims and perpetrators, raising critical questions about accountability and violence.

La Fundición joins forces once again with BAD Bilbao (Bilbao Antzerki Dantza), which presents contemporary dance, live arts, performance, and research projects across various venues in the city between 15 and 25 October.
