📖 A romantic tale of pirates and devotion

Inspired by Lord Byron's epic romantic poem, this three-act ballet chronicles the thrilling adventures of a band of pirates sailing uncharted waters and Conrad's love for Medora. Featuring the original score by Adolphe Adam alongside musical contributions by Riccardo Drigo, Léo Delibes, and Cesare Pugni, the work originally premiered at the Paris Opera in 1856. The company performs the iconic 1866 choreographic version by Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa.

The story begins with a shipwreck and arrival in Turkey, where Conrad sets out to rescue Medora from the slave trader Lankedem and the wealthy Pasha, setting off a gripping series of rescue missions and dramatic scenes filled with technical bravura.

🎭 The company and humanitarian support

Since its first tour in 2022, Viktor Ishchuk's Kyiv Ballet has achieved widespread acclaim across premier theaters. In addition to high artistic standards, this production retains a strong charitable purpose, donating proceeds to UNICEF to assist humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

✨ A splendid evening of classical dance and sweeping adventure at Euskalduna.
