📖 Louis Vierne's monumental work on two consoles

The centerpiece of the evening is the renowned Messe solennelle Op. 16 by French composer Louis Vierne, originally written for Saint-Sulpice church in Paris and composed for two separate organs.

A distinctive feature of this performance is the simultaneous use of both consoles of the Karl Schuke organ. Organists Carlos Fernández Bollo and Óscar Rodríguez Pastora will coordinate their playing across all 5,390 pipes, recreating the spatial dialogue envisioned by Vierne alongside the expressive power of the choral ensemble.

🎶 Choral tradition and the Karl Schuke organ

The event marks the closing of the 2026 edition of Organo Kontzertuak, pairing the artistic legacy of Sociedad Coral de Bilbao with the acoustic architecture of the Euskalduna Auditorium.

✨ A unique musical gathering uniting choral expression and organ mastery in Bilbao.
