Dramaturgia Biziak 2026: Playwriting at Sala BBK

Bilbao hosts Dramaturgia Biziak 2026, an initiative dedicated to contemporary playwriting at Sala BBK. 🎭✨

📖 Supporting contemporary Basque playwriting

These conference days were created to promote contemporary Basque playwriting and support theatrical talent from Biscay. Across three days at Sala BBK, playwrights and performing arts professionals gather to analyze current trends and challenges in stage writing.

The program begins on Friday, 6 November, at 10:00 with the institutional opening, followed by a panel on female and dissident playwriting in the Basque Country, moderated by Agurtzane Intxaurraga with Amancay Gaztañaga and Ana García Peña. Later that morning, Aizpea Goenaga leads the session "Nuevos relatos" alongside Iñigo Guardamino, Javier Liñera, and Kepa Errasti.

🎭 Panel discussions and playwriting tournament

On Saturday, 7 November, at 10:30, Conchita Piña moderates a panel on publishing, editing, and stage representation with Paco Gámez, Denise Despeyroux, and Itziar Pascual. At 12:30, Iñaki Cid leads a session on Basque playwriting today featuring Oier Guillan, Olatz Gorrotxategi, and Ainara Gurrutxaga. At 19:30, the event presents the semifinal of the Playwriting Tournament with four texts.

On Sunday, 8 November, at 19:00, the final of the Playwriting Tournament takes place, followed by the award ceremony and closing session.
