📖 The rediscovery of a lost friendship
Set in the early 1960s in the modest theatre of a New York high school, the play follows successful lawyer Hans Schwartz and his cousin Sarah as they direct a youth choir. Hans unexpectedly receives a letter from a German historian containing a sealed envelope left for him twenty years earlier by Count Konradin Hohenfels.
This surprising discovery sparks a reunion with the past. At age sixteen in Germany, Hans and Konradin shared a profound friendship, until the rise of Nazism and Hans's exile to the United States abruptly destroyed their bond.
🎭 The creative team
The cast features Kepa Errasti, Kimetz Etxabe, and Maite Larburu, who also performs the original score live on stage. The stage design is by Fernando Bernués, lighting by David Bernués, and costume design by Ana Turrillas.
ℹ️ Good to know: Premiere performance in Basque (the Spanish-language version will premiere on 13 January).
✨ A moving exploration of memories and bonds that withstand the passage of time.
