📖 Three visions of musical modernism
The concert explores the artistic connections shared by Manuel de Falla, Claude Debussy, and Igor Stravinsky, with early 20th-century Paris as the cultural epicentre of innovation. The evening opens with "Abestu Euskadiko Orkestrarekin" and continues with Suite No. 2 from Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat, composed for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, transforming traditional Spanish fandangos, jotas, and farrucas into dynamic orchestral music.
Next, Debussy's La mer offers three symphonic sketches where shifting timbres and subtle harmonies capture the dialogue between wind and ocean waves. The program concludes with the suite from Stravinsky's The Firebird, blending Russian fairy-tale folklore with brilliant instrumental refinement.
🎶 Lucas Macías and Euskadiko Orkestra
