📖 Fiction versus reality

The story begins on the very night Clara presents her new novel. Unexpectedly, someone knocks on her door: it is Manuela, the evicted elderly woman who inspired her character "Cándida". Although living on the street has taken its toll over the past two years, Clara recognizes her immediately.

Manuela arrives demanding shelter, just as Clara's character does in the novel. Advised by her publisher and against her own wishes, Clara feels compelled to take the older woman in. The book has been heavily promoted as autofiction with an ambitious print run; with significant financial stakes and Clara's literary reputation on the line, discovering that she acted contrary to her story in real life would ruin everything.

🎭 Tartean Teatroa and the creative team

Written and directed by Patxo Telleria, the production features actors Miren Gaztañaga, Nerea Mazo, and Mikel Martinez. The artistic team also includes music by Adrián García de los Ojos, set and costume design by Ikerne Gimenez, lighting design by David Rodríguez Medina, sound by Borja Arbaiza, and audiovisuals by Jone Novo (Bufalo Produkzioak).

✨ An unmissable theatrical event exploring creation, ethics, and the boundaries of autofiction.
