📖 A celebration of poetry and song
A quarter of a century ago, the collection Bitartean heldu eskutik (Susa) was presented at the Durango Fair, celebrated by critics as a "quiet revolution". Its pages stood out for their direct, urban poetry, giving voice to real lives: migrants, working women, addicts, trans individuals, and fishermen.
The book quickly crossed borders, earning translations into English, Spanish, French, and Russian. More recently, the poem "Maiatza / May" was featured in the prestigious centennial anthology of The New Yorker.
🎶 Two artists reunited
The original collection was born during a period when Kirmen Uribe and Mikel Urdangarin frequently exchanged creative ideas, songs, and joint initiatives. Twenty-five years later, this special production brings them back together to revisit that early 21st-century artistic energy through poetry and musical accompaniment.
✨ An exceptional evening honouring a landmark poetic work in Bilbao.
