📖 Sound exploration and dialogue between tradition and jazz

Thalatha explores the acoustic and expressive nuances of one of jazz’s classic instrumentations: piano, double bass, and drums. The band brings together three performers of diverse ages, origins, and artistic disciplines who merge their unique perspectives on stage.

Their work builds upon two complementary directions. First, they deliver a distinctive reinterpretation of jazz standards inspired by legendary piano trios including those of Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, Kenny Barron, and Christian McBride. Second, they perform original compositions steeped in traditional music from their respective homelands, drawing inspiration from classical masters as well as jazz luminaries.

🎶 Impulso 2026 program and artistic residency

This live performance is part of Impulso 2026, an initiative in which Thalatha was selected as one of four featured projects. Through this residency, the trio focuses on refining arrangements of popular songs and original pieces to shape their characteristic sound.

✨ An engaging evening of contemporary jazz presented across three intimate sets in Bilbao.
