📖 The art and physics of sound on stage

Far from a conventional recital, this production merges art and science through theatrical narration, popular science explanations, and live performance. The narrative explores perception, memory, resonance, and implicit polyphony, revealing to the audience how a solo instrument creates complex acoustic structures.

The journey is built around two monumental solo violin works: Eugène Ysaÿe's Sonata No. 3 and Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata No. 2, performed by violinist Marianna Atria, affiliated with Madrid's Katarina Gurska Conservatory.

🔬 Opening of Zientzia Astea 2026

This event opens the 25th edition of Zientzia Astea, the Science Week promoted by the University of the Basque Country (EHU) under the motto "art and science". The script was written by Luca Fanelli as part of the project La ciencia del sonido, led by BCAM, EHU, and Elhuyar with the support of the Basque Government.

ℹ️ Good to know: The event will be held entirely in Basque (Euskera) and is accessible to all audiences.

✨ A unique encounter at Bilbao's conservatory bridging solo violin mastery and science.
