📖 A musical dialogue connecting three cities
This performance brings together Xabi Aburruzaga, Jorge Garrido, and Juan Saiz to interweave their distinct sonic heritages. Developed through artistic research and collaboration, the project explores the common threads between their regional roots, keeping their cultural identities alive while opening them up to contemporary acoustic possibilities.
The concert brings together instruments that rarely share a stage: the Basque trikitixa accordion, the hurdy-gurdy, and winds including flute and saxophones. This distinctive mix produces a rich sonic dialogue where tradition blends seamlessly with joint musical exploration.
🎶 The artists and the "Tan Cerca" initiative
On stage, Xabi Aburruzaga plays the trikitixa, Jorge Garrido performs on the hurdy-gurdy (zanfona), and Juan Saiz performs on flute and saxophones.
"Raíz compartida" was created with the support of the "Tan Cerca" cultural initiative, a programme jointly organised by the city councils of Santander, Bilbao, and Logroño to foster cultural exchange between the three cities.
✨ An inspiring live encounter highlighting the richness of shared traditional music at Teatro Campos Elíseos.
